Scholarships for Leisure Services

A scholarship offers an opportunity to pay less than the full fee for a Leisure Services program. In some cases participants may qualify for a 100% scholarship and not have to pay any of the program fee.

Any Athens-Clarke County resident under the age of 18 may apply for a scholarship.

Parents must apply for an ACC Leisure Services Scholarship at least five business days prior to registering for a program. Applying for a scholarship and a program may not be done at the same time.

Applicants must provide a current and reliable photo ID, valid email address, along with verification of dependency, income, and residency.

Please take the required documentation, to any of the following Leisure Services facility offices: Bishop Park, East Athens Community Center, East Athens Educational Dance Center, Lay Park, Lyndon House Arts Center, Memorial Park, Rocksprings Community Center and Park, or Sandy Creek Nature Center,

Parents may apply for scholarships at Leisure Services offices, but scholarship applications will not approved on site. Applicants should expect an email within five business days as to whether or not the scholarship has been approved. This email will include the amount of discount and will take the place of the previously laminated cards.

All scholarships, no matter when the initial application was processed, expire on June 30. The applicant must complete the scholarship process each year.

Scholarships do not cover admission, entrance, field trips, or rental fees. ACC Leisure Services will grant a scholarship to all those who qualify.

Staff at all facilities are available to answer questions or call 706-613-3800.
