If you need information or copies from the records of the Clerk of Magistrate Court, you may search the records in person during normal business hours. Requests for Certified Copies
The Clerk of Magistrate Court fulfills requests for record searches every Thursday. Requests should be mailed to:

Include a payment by money order or check for each search, along with a self-addressed, stamped envelope. The name of the person at the time of the arrest, the arrest date, and the charge(s) should be included with the request.
The Clerk of State Court is located on the fourth floor of the Athens-Clarke County Courthouse. The Clerk of State Court can be reached at 706-613-3190. The Clerk of Municipal Court is located on the first floor of the Athens-Clarke County Courthouse and can be reached at 706-613-3690.
Criminal Records Maintained by the Clerk of Magistrate Court The Clerk of Magistrate Court also holds criminal records from December 24, 1960, through the present. For records before November 4, 1992, the only records maintained by the clerk of Magistrate Court are the hand-written docket books. For records after November 4, 1992, the Clerk maintains a computerized docket.
