This year’s show was selected by guest juror Ms. Susan Krane, Oshman Executive Director of the San Jose Museum of Art.

Ms. Krane visited Athens and the Lyndon House for two days in January to review Athens area artist submissions.  In those two days, 313 artists entered 797 works of art.  Ms. Krane quelled through the multitude of works with great sensitivity and scrutiny, always remarking with great admiration, on the outstanding quality of the work whether from experienced professionals or those experimenting or taking risks.  With awe, she has given us a concise group show of 162 works from large sculpture, works on paper, photography, painting to fiber and metalwork, all of which she found particular strength.

The exhibition continues through May 6, 2017.  All exhibitions are free and open to the public during regular gallery hours: Tuesdays and Thursdays from noon to 9 PM, and Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays from 9 AM to 5 PM

Susan Krane, formerly the Director at the Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art and the University of Colorado Art Museum,  was the Curator  of Modern and Contemporary Art at the High Museum of Art from 1987 – 1995. She has authored numerous publications, organized over 60 exhibitions and has served on the faculties of SUNY Buffalo, Emory University, and the University of Colorado at Boulder.

The exhibit and gallery talks are free and open to the public.
Open Hours: Tuesday & Thursday 12 - 9pm
