Barbara Mann: Keum Boo and Roller Printing Studio Experience

This informative and fun one-day experience is suitable for all levels from beginner to advance. Open Studio Members will experiment with the ancient Asian metalwork technique of keum boo, which involves bonding 24 karat gold to silver. In combination with learning the bonding method, students will learn to add texture to metal using a jeweler’s rolling mill to emboss the surface of metal using materials such as lace, snakeskin, cornhusks, etc.
An Open Studio Membership is required in addition to a materials fee of $50. (Includes 24-karat gold foil, sterling silver sheet, copper sheet, brass sheet, blades, ear wires and pendant bails).
Please note that space is limited to 8 participants. A reservation sign-up sheet will be available January 11th. Please visit the Arts Center to reserve your spot. A current membership is a requirement.

Whether you work in acrylic or oil, you will benefit from Charles Warnock's individualized approach for the advanced, beginner and intermediate painter. Studio Members bring their own subject matter or works in progress and Charles will offer easel side assistance on an individual basis. Members bring their own painting supplies and canvas or other painting surface. Lockers and racks are available for storage.
