UPDATE - ACCIDENT WITH INJURIES

On November 20 YONG NAM, 23, of Arch St, succumbed to injuries he sustained in a motor vehicle accident in which he was involved on N Peter St on November 19. The accident investigation continues. (11-1252)

UPDATE – ARMED ROBBERY / AGGRAVATED BATTERY

Athens-Clarke County Police are continuing to investigate the November 20 armed robbery and aggravated battery that occurred on Highland Park Dr. ACCPD detectives are requesting that anyone with information regarding this case call Detective Hamilton at 706-613-3888 X292 or the Crime Stoppers Tip Line at 706-613-3342. The masked perpetrators were described as three black males with dreads and wearing all black clothing. Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the perpetrators. (11-1286)

ARREST

Around 1045 November 20 officers responded to a complaint of suspicious persons in the 100 block of Live Oak Dr. The first officer to arrive approached the residence on foot and saw two subjects behind the residence carrying objects. The subjects were detained for investigative purposes. Investigation revealed a Tallassee Rd residence, which was through a wooded area behind the Live Oak residence, and owned by JEREMY ALLEN PATE of Gainesville, had been burglarized. PATE responded and advised a riding lawn mower, doorknob set, shoes, handbag, cellphone, and two-cycle oil had been stolen. These items were recovered behind the Live Oak Dr residence where the suspects were detained. AMY MICHELLE FLOYD, 33, Lavista Rd, and TYLER HARRIS HAIRSTON, 35, Settler’s Pass, were arrested and charged with Burglary. FLOYD was also charged with Giving False Information as she gave a false name when officers first made contact with her. (11-1293)

ACCIDENT

ANDREW MAY of Barnett Shoals Rd, driving a 2009 Mazda 3, had turned on Research Rd from Barnett Shoals Rd to travel west around 0740 November 20. He swerved to miss a dog that ran out in the roadway. He over corrected, crossed the eastbound lane of traffic, and struck the guardrail. MAY was transported to Athens Regional Medical Center. No citations were issued. (11-1289)

ATTEMPTED BURGLARY

An attempt was made to burglarize the Ashmore Ct residence of SHANTRANEKA AURTRELL BROWN between 0900 and 1050 November 20. (11-1295)

BURGLARY

Between 0001 and 0230 November 20 the E Broad St residence of BRIAN POTTER was burglarized. POTTER reported $20 stolen. KAITLYN MICHELLE JONES also of E Broad St reported $530 stolen from her purse. A suspect was named. (11-1298)

CEBRI AKYLAN LANIES MOORE reported her Parkview Homes residence burglarized between 1030 and 2015 November 20. A TV valued at $350 and owned by AARON’S RENTAL, 3250 Lexington Rd, was stolen. (11-1327)

BATTERY

An officer met with SANDRA ELAINE WILLIAMS of Vine St at a Nellie B Ave residence around 1500 November 20. WILLIAMS said on November 18 around 0800 she was at a Vine St residence. She was arguing with a person known. During that time, she said he took her arm and placed it on a heated stovetop burner. EMS responded to the Nellie B address and transported WILLIAMS to Athens Regional Medical Center for treatment. The investigation continues. (11-1306)
