new! The ACC Building Inspection Department is providing an opportunity for citizens to receive training regarding the installation of gray water and rain water recycling systems. Ron Anderson, Executive Director of the Georgia Plumbers Trade Association, will teach two four-hour classes on Monday August 10 at 120 Dougherty Street in the Planning Auditorium. The morning class will be 8:00 am to 12:00 pm and the afternoon class will be 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm. The registration fee is $25 per person and payment should be made directly to Ron Anderson the day of the class. Contact the Building Inspection Department office at (706) 613-3520 to pre-register for either the morning or afternoon class, as seating is limited.
As of July 1, 2008, a license from the state of Georgia is required to practice contracting in the state for work costing $2,500 or more. Licenses are available in Residential - Basic Contractor, Residential - Light Commercial Contractor, and General Contractor categories.
