TASK 3 - OFF-SITE IMPROVEMENTS:
PROJECT ELEMENT 3.1 - EAST BROAD STREET CORRIDOR:
Includes Geometric improvements that will greatly increase good traffic operations, especially for the increased Bus traffic along this corridor.
Typical Roadway Section includes a 5’ Sidewalk on both sides, 30” Curb and Gutter, 5’ wide Bike Lanes, two 11’ Travel Lanes, and a 11’ Turning Lane at Hickory Street.
Includes two new Signals. One at the Intersection of East Broad Street and Hickory, and the other at the Intersection of East Broad Street and Foundry Street.
The Roadway has been designed to handle the future Double Tracking of the Norfolk Southern Line that crosses East Broad Street. The Crossing will be upgraded with a pre-cast panel system.
