The ACC Water Business Office issues and collects bills for water provision and wastewater treatment services by the ACC Public Utilities Department and stormwater fees for ACC Transportation and Public Works. The office also handles water service and water service restoration (see also: Public Utilities, Stormwater Management Program).

The ACC Public Utilities Department Water Conservation Coordinator can provide free residential water audits, as well as tips and tools to help conserve water usage.

Weed 'n' Seed– 706-613-3358

Since 1998, the ACC Police Department has been awarded an Operation Weed 'n' Seed grant from the U.S. Department of Justice. The strategy is two-pronged: "weeding out" of criminal elements in target neighborhoods and "seeding" the area with human services to encourage prevention and neighborhood revitalization. The target area includes East Athens, Northeast Athens, Newtown, Boulevard/Buena Vista and Spring Valley/Woodridge (see also: Volunteer Income Tax Assistance).

Welcome Center Kiosk- Between City Hall and Board of Elections (155 East Washington Street).
The Athens Welcome Center offers visitor and newcomer information, a gift shop and a variety of tours of the community. It is housed in the Church-Waddel-Brumby House, which was built circa 1820 and is believed to be the oldest house in Athens. The house is owned by Athens-Clarke County and administered by the Athens-Clarke Heritage Foundation as a house museum and welcome center.

Wildlife
The ACC Animal Control Division (706-613-3540) will respond to a seriously sick, injured or trapped wildlife animal, as well as any threat to public safety. If wild animals have nested, exist in large numbers, or are within a wall or other structure that would be damaged in order to gain access to the animal, a licensed wildlife removal company should be contacted.
