What is the Municipal Court's jurisdiction?
The Municipal Court has jurisdiction in most misdemeanor traffic offenses. The Court also has jurisdiction (with certain statutory exceptions) in misdemeanor offenses of underage possession of alcohol, possession of marijuana, and theft by shoplifting. The Court also handles local ordinance violations, including parking violations, and domestic partner declarations.

What time does Court begin?
Court begins at 9:00 a.m. (arraignments) and 1:30 p.m. (trials and hearings). You must arrive on time. If you are late, your case will move to end of the docket or may be deferred to another date.

What are some general Court rules?

  • You must be dressed properly for Court
