triangle On June 8, Streets & Drainage received an award from the Athens-Clarke Heritage Foundation on behalf of the Transportation & Public Works Department. The award was for the Outstanding Restoration of the Historic Brick Sidewalk on Hancock Avenue. The brick sidewalk was covered up by dirt and debris and was uncovered and cleaned by the division. Maintenance will continue as resources permit.

triangle Residential Annual Parking Passes: Residential annual parking passes for areas requiring them can be obtained from the Transporation & Public Works Engineering Division at 120 W. Dougherty Street (lower level).

Please bring the following:

  • Valid picture ID
  • Proof of residency (lease/rental agreement or current utility bill)
  • $10 (cash or check)

If there were no parking passes previously issued during the year for an address, residents may obtain 2 annual passes for $10. Call (706) 613-3440 for more details.

triangle Preliminary flood plain maps for Athens-Clarke County can be found on the GA Department of Natural Resources Environmental Protection Divisions' Flood Map Project Web site.

triangle The Athens-Clarke County Department of Transportation and Public Works was selected by the Georgia Chapter of the American Concrete Institute to receive the Outstanding Achievement Award. The award highlights innovative concrete paving projects constructed within the last year. The department was recognized for its work with porous concrete at the Athens transit facility.
