Athens-Clarke
County Purchasing, responsible for coordinating the procurement
activities of the Unified Government, is committed to purchasing
quality goods and services at the best possible price. In doing
so, Athens-Clarke County procures goods and services with an
estimated value of $50,000 or greater via the formal competitive
sealed bid process.
All
bid opportunities are displayed on the web site, via fax-on-demand
at (800) 711-1712, or in the government's legal organ, currently
the Athens Newspapers. Bids are displayed in the legal organ for
two consecutive weeks prior to the scheduled bid opening date.
Normally,
bids are scheduled to open on Wednesdays at 4:00 p.m.
