REFERENDUM STATEMENT: - To improve operational efficiency, the Athens-Clarke County Jail and Corrections will combine food preparation. The facility will provide meals for their inmates and/or detainees, including those in holding cells at the courthouse and the new Diversion Center. The new facility will be approximately 8,000 Square foot and be located on the Lexington Road Public Safety Campus. It will include the purchase of all necessary food preparation equipment, utility and roadway infrastructure improvements and necessary parking. The project will also accomplish water line and other utility improvements necessary to support the Correctional Institute, Jail, and other Public Safety facilities at this site.
