PROJECT #30: Greenway Land Acquisition

REFERENDUM STATEMENT: - This project consists of the acquisition of properties on the North Oconee River. Parcels should provide stream buffer, recreational access to the river, and/or Greenway opportunities. Purchases are to be approved in advance by the Mayor and Commission. This project is a next installment of the SPLOST IV program.

Budget: $1,418,795 Fixed
Annual Operating Expense: $ 0

Current Status:

Group A - MLK Properties - Phase II - Design - Task 3.3 Land Acquisition
Group B - Williams Street Connector - Substantially Complete.

Actions Since Last Report:

Group A – MLK Properties:

Staff is negotiating with other Property Owners along MLK for acquisition of their tracts of land.
- Brewer property – Leisure Services Department and SPLOST Staff have met with our Attorney in order to proceed with the seeking the establishment of a Special Master to hear this Friendly Condemnation of said property.

Group B – Williams Street Connector - Project is Complete.

Greenway Network Plan:

Development of the Southern Segment of the North Oconee River Phase 1 Planning is underway.

157 First Street Demolition - Project is Complete.

Greenway Exhibits:

Project is complete.

Greenway Rehabilitation:

Construction is Complete. Volunteers will complete the installation of plants prior to the end of the year.

Aguar Plaza - Project is Complete.

Project is complete.
