PROJECT 18 - DIRT ROADS PROGRAM - GROUP 1

Campaign Statement: Upgrade approximately 20 existing dirt roads to residential paved standards, eliminating the need for constant repairs.

Original Project Budget: $750,000

Additional SPLOST Revenue Allocated: $250,000 (Amendment 1 - April 4, 2000)

Additional General Funds (FY99 and FY00): $200,000

PROJECT DESCRIPTION: GROUP 1

1. Hawkins Lane: Includes donation by local land owners of enough right-of-way to meet ACC Rural Section requirements, (60’). Also includes the development of an improved road meeting ACC Local Street – low density designation requirements. This particular project will consist of a 20-foot road section, 425 lineal feet improved road surface culminating with a 90-foot diameter cul de sac. This project will also consist of all necessary stormwater improvements.
2. Derricotte Road: Includes donation by local landowners of enough right-of-way to meet ACC Rural Section requirements, (60’). Also includes the development of an improved road meeting ACC Local Street – low density designation requirements. This particular project will consist a 20-foot road section, 1,800 lineal feet improved road surface culminating with a 90-foot diameter cul-de-sac. This project will also consist of all necessary stormwater improvements.
3. Nellie Mae's Drive: Includes donation by local landowners of enough right-of-way to meet ACC Rural Section requirements, (60’). Also includes the development of an improved road meeting ACC Local Street – low density designation requirements. This particular project will consist a 20-foot road section, 1,925 lineal feet improved road surface culminating with a 90-foot diameter cul-de-sac. This project will also consist of all necessary stormwater improvements.

Current Status: Group #1 construction projects have been completed with the exception of Nellie Mae Drive. Staff is currently working with Nellie Mae Drive property owners to achieve necessary right-of-way for Level 2 road in lieu of Level 1. Only punch list items remain on Hawkins Lane and Derricotte Road project.

Also includes the development of an improved road meeting ACC Local Street – low density designation requirements. This particular project will consist of a 20-foot road section, 3,100 lineal feet improved road surface tying into the existing unpaved road at the Oconee County Line. This project will also consist of all necessary stormwater improvements.
2. Mission Drive: Includes donation by local landowners of enough right-of-way to meet ACC Rural Section requirements, (40’). Also includes the development of an improved road meeting ACC Local Street – low density designation requirements. This particular project will consist a 20-foot road section, 2,800 lineal feet improved road surface culminating with a 90-foot diameter cul-de-sac. This project will also consist of all necessary stormwater improvements.
3. Turkey Creek: Includes donation by local landowners of enough right-of-way to meet ACC Rural Section requirements, (60’). Also includes the development of an improved road meeting ACC Local Street – low density designation requirements. This particular project will consist a 20-foot road section, 1,200 lineal feet improved road surface culminating with a 90-foot diameter cul-de-sac. This project will also consist of all necessary stormwater improvements.
