PROJECT 24 - DANIELSVILLE ROAD WIDENING Campaign Statement: Four-lane Danielsville Road including the construction of turn lanes at major intersections from Athens Perimeter to Nowhere Road. Project Location: Danielsville Road from the Athens Perimeter of Nowhere Road. Original Project Budget: $ 750,000 Additional SPLOST IV Revenues Allocated: $ 240,000 (Amendment 1 - June 15, 1999) & $241,601 (Amendment 2 - April 4, 2000) Additional Outside Funding: $4,140,000 (eligible for Federal-Aid) Interest: $241,601 Revised Project Budget: $5,371,601 Operating Budget Impact: None PROJECT CONCEPT: The scope of this project is limited to the funding necessary for right of way acquisition. The State of Georgia, Department of Transportation has committed construction funding for the widening of Danielsville Road from the Athens Perimeter Highway to Nowhere Road. The construction will include turn lanes at major intersections on this section of Danielsville Road. SPLOST funds will be expended for appraisal and legal expenses, and property acquisition.
