PROJECT 29 - LANDFILL CLOSURE AND GROUNDWATER PROTECTION Campaign Statement: Closure and groundwater protection at the old landfill as required by state and federal regulations. Project Location: 5700 Lexington Road - Old Landfill Site. Original Project Budget: $ 6,000,000 Additional SPLOST Revenues Allocated: $ 2,600,000 Additional Funding: Revised Project Budget: $8,600,000 Operating Budget Impact: No Additional Project Priority: N/A, however, the project is under EPD review for corrective work to achieve compliance. PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The scope of this project is to identify and implement the most appropriate measures and actions for the closure and capping of the old pre-Subtitle "D" section of the A-CC Landfill and any necessary remedial actions associated with impacted groundwater in compliance with appropriate state / federal / local regulations and consistent with sound environmental practices. The project budget is to provide for currently anticipated costs for required professional services and implementation of appropriate measures and/or actions.
