PROJECT 08 - BRIDGE REHABILITATION

Campaign Statement: Upgrade overall safety of most bridges in Athens-Clarke County to improve them before major failures occur.

Project Location: Approximately 53 bridges throughout the Athens-Clarke County area.

Original Project Budget:$ 800,000

Additional SPLOST Revenues Allocated:$ 800,000

Additional Funding:

Revised Project Budget: $1,600,000

PROJECT DESCRIPTION: This project is envisioned to consist of bridge repair rehabilitation work identified by the State of Georgia, Department of Transportation Bridge Survey conducted in 1993. SPLOST funds are proposed to be expended in the following manner; 1.) An identification and verification survey of needed bridge repairs. 2.) Construction of repairs based on priorities established by the A-CC Public Works Department. Property acquisition is not anticipated for this project. The following is a detailed description of each deficiency (Condition) and the bridges that have them:

CONDITION A - Bridges with piling that shows signs of section loss, or have been exposed by scour, that require cleaning, painting, and encasement:
