PROJECT 09 - EPPS BRIDGE PARKWAY Campaign Statement: Local share of right-of-way commitments to allow construction of a four-lane divided entrance, with sidewalks and bike paths, into Athens-Clarke County from SR316. Project Location: Epps Bridge Road from the Oconee County Line to Atlanta Highway. Original Project Budget: $ 1,250,000 Operating Budget Impact: None PROJECT CONCEPT: This project is a State of Georgia, Department of Transportation Project. SPLOST funds are envisioned to be expended for engineering consultant services and right-of-way acquisition. The SPLOST budgeted amount represents the balance of the maximum matching funds to be expended by Athens-Clarke County on this project. Property acquisition is underway. SET ONE AND SET TWO CONCEPT: In Set One SPLOST IV envisions matching funds to the Georgia D.O.T. on December 19, 1995 for Engineering design and Right-of -way acquisition. Current Status: PROJECT IS COMPLETE. Action Since Last Report: SPLOST has reimbursed GDOT $586,912.32 for engineering costs and utility relocations based on agreed Local Government Project Agreement. Comments: $339,633.69 transferred to ACC Public Utilities Department for their costs incurred during construction of road. Remaining $4,586.89+/- to be used to install lighting along parkway between Timothy Road and Oconee County Line if Mayor and Commission approve future funding. |
