THE HOME PROGRAM FOR AFFORDABLE HOUSING
The HOME Program was created by the National Affordable Housing Act of 1990 (NAHA), and has been amended several times by subsequent legislation.
Objectives:
· Provide decent affordable housing to lower-income households.
· Expand the capacity of nonprofit housing providers.
· Strengthen the ability of state and local governments to provide housing.
· Leverage private-sector participation.
Eligible HOME Housing Activities:
· Property acquisition and rehabilitation
· Owner occupied rehabilitation
· Infill Construction
· Sub-division development
