Athens-Clarke County Cooperative Extension is the local office of the statewide County Extension System. It is a cooperative venture between the Athens-Clarke County Unified Government and the University of Georgia. Cooperative Extension provides education and information for all citizens of Athens-Clarke County in the areas of agriculture, horticulture, the environment, families, food and nutrition, and financial security.
Our mission is to extend lifelong learning to Georgia citizens through unbiased, research-based education in agriculture, the environment, communities, youth, and families.

Free Gardening Class Series
From February through November, Athens-Clarke County Extension is holding a free gardening class each month. Taught by Master Gardener Extension Volunteers, these classes take place in the auditorium of the Athens-Clarke County Library (2025 Baxter St.) from 6:00 -7:30 p.m.
Intended for gardeners of all experience and skill levels, the monthly classes will cover a variety of topics such as seasonal vegetable gardening, composting, beekeeping, and more. Registration is required.
June 12, 2019: Water Wise Gardening
Please join us for an informative presentation on topics including: the importance of water conservation, methods for stewarding water efficiently in your garden, and managing evaporative water loss. Gardeners of all skill levels are welcome. Please register by Tuesday, June 11th.
