This project will fund ongoing preventive maintenance and road reconstruction activities on various local streets and roads throughout Athens-Clarke County. The project includes crack sealing, full-depth patching, resurfacing, and roadway reconstruction with the intent to preserve and extend the life of existing roadways. This will continue an ongoing SPLOST 2000 Project.

The SPLOST 2005 program original work scope has been completed resulting in improvements of approximately 1,250 lane miles of local roads.
On March 6, 2012 the Mayor and Commission approved a re-allocation of approximately $1.1 Million dollars to this Project. These funds have been used to continue pavement improvements in accordance with approved priorities of the ACC Transportation and Public Works Department and have added approximately 18 lane miles for further improvements.
