The Lyndon House Arts Center offers a variety of art classes for children, ages 4 - 18, in different disciplines. All programs are open to Athens-Clarke County residents and non county residents.
Remember! - Teens ride the Athens-Clarke Transit for free! The closest stops are Health Center and Dougherty/Jackson.

Construct it: Recycled Sculpture
Work with Teaching Artist Katya Tepper. Students will explore assemblage sculpture using found materials sourced from the local Re-Use center and from our own recycling bins. We will think about the environmental impacts of our trash, while learning about sculptural forms and looking at the rich history of assemblage art. Our creativity will help us turn garbage into beautiful and thoughtful creations! Ages 9-12, Tuesdays, 4:00 - 5:30 pm, September 10, for 6 weeks.Link to page
Art Time I, II & III
Art Time: Art Time class, with 4-6 year olds, combines artistic technique with authentic self-expression. Fine art is about creative problem solving and not about just following step-by-step instructions. This one hour class, with a very low child/adult ratio, offers students the opportunity to be curious and open to new ideas while developing new skills. Young artists will explore a range of fine art media including 2D and 3D, painting, drawing, printmaking, paper-making, video art and more. Ages: 4-6Link to page

Drawing & Painting with Toni
Learning to draw and paint landscapes is so rewarding. And it's fun to add imagination to these landscapes. In this course students will develop drawing skills, especially those that assist with nature and environment. As weather permits, students will draw outside, Students will also learn and develop basic painting skills. Inspired by nature and with brushes, palettes, paint and easels, we will create landscape and nature paintings (real or imagined!). All materials are provided. Note: best to wear clothes that you don't mind getting paint on. There is a $6 per child materials fee for this class. Materials fees are not scholarship eligible.Link to page
Teen Sewing Club
Every Tuesday, 5:30 – 7:30 pm, Beginning Sept 11 (Age 12 & up) Use our fiber studio and machines to focus on your own sewing projects with the guidance of a professional. If you've already taken sewing classes with us please inquire if you're under 12. Free Pizza in September! Then $5 per week. Teens ride the Athens-Clarke Transit for free!
