Rules

  • The rental party must vacate the facility when the reservation time expires.
  • Rental of any facility entitles the renting party to exclusive use of that facility only. It does not entitle renting party exclusive use of the nearby playground, open field, etc.
  • Parking spaces are not reserved or guaranteed with reservations. No parking is allowed on grass areas.
  • Shelter #3 rentals: The gate at the bottom of the hill will not be unlocked except for emergency or maintenance vehicles.
  • Alcoholic beverages are not allowed on park premises.
  • No music is allowed at Memorial Park except at special events or programs approved by the Leisure Services Department.
  • Smoking is not allowed in any Athens-Clarke County park, recreation center, or youth sports complex.
  • Camping is not allowed within the park.
  • Vehicles are allowed on designated paved surfaces only.
  • No dogs or other pets are allowed in the zoo. Pets must be on a leash at all times in all county parks.
  • No swimming is allowed in the lake at any time.
  • If park staff has problems with any group of individuals obeying the rules, the party will be warned once. If this warning does not solve the problem, the group or individual will be asked to leave the park.
