Please share your March, April, & May sustainability-related events with us HERE.
GreenFest is a community-wide celebration providing citizens with an opportunity to improve their homes, businesses, and community environment. Events are held March through May by our partnering organizations to encourage learning and to provide tools necessary for creating an environmentally friendly community.
The "main event" each year is the GreenFest Sustainability Awards Ceremony, which features environmentally-focused organizations and their awards. Through peer nominations within the community, the GreenFest Awards recognize sustainability leaders in Athens-Clarke County schools, businesses, community organizations, & government. These awards celebrate individuals, businesses, and organizations that have gone above and beyond in the ways of environmental stewardship, innovative sustainable design, and other community improvements. Join us on April 19th, 2018 at Flinchum's Phoenix to celebrate sustainability in Athens, specifically recognizing these dedicated award recipients. The event will run 5:30-8:30pm.
As part of the annual GreenFest awards ceremony, the Athens-Clarke County Unified Government solicits nominations in a variety of environmental areas. Help honor local individuals, schools, and businesses by completing a nomination form below.
Beginning in March 2019, K-12 Students will be encouraged to submit artwork for the 2019 GreenFest Kids Art Contest! For more details, download this Official Entry Form.
