Mums and Green Thumbs

Mums and Green Thumbs is a gardening program that teaches persons with cognitive disabilities gardening techniques for various plants species native to Georgia. This program will highlight caring for plants, gardening safety, harvesting vegetables, and plant education. Prepare yourself to get elbow deep in some dirt and experience the plant wonders that Georgia has to offer. Due to the nature of the program, Athens-Clarke County Leisure Services Department is not able to provide one-on-one supervision. Staff will be present to assist with facilitation and provide adaptations for participation. If one-on-one supervision is needed, a parent/guardian or other care-giver should be present for the duration of the program.

Participants may be asked to complete a "Therapeutic Recreation Program Participation Form"
