Registration Continues Online...

Winter 2015-16 program registration continues at  A variety of programs are available including art, dance, nature, recreation, sports, and more. 

Individuals may sign up for Leisure Services Department programs using a computer or smartphone.   Payment may be rendered using a debit card, Discover, MasterCard, Visa, or a MasterCard or Visa gift card. 

Before registering, individuals must establish a free online account at  

Winter registration will continue until programs are at full enrollment or they begin.

Individuals who do not have access to a computer or smart phone may register online using the computer labs at East Athens Community Center at 400 McKinley Dr., Lay Park at 297 Hoyt St., or Rocksprings Park at 291 Henderson Ext.

Everyone Loves a Parade!

The Downtown Parade of Lights is back.  Join the entire community downtown for this family fun event set for Thursday, December 3 at 7:00 PM. This year's theme is "It's Christmastime in the City."

As always, the parade will start at the corner of Dougherty and Pulaski Streets and make its way through downtown to City Hall where Santa Claus will light the community Christmas tree.

Camp Isn't Just for Summer...

School's out and the kids need some holiday fun.  The Leisure Services Department offers a selection of holiday mini camps scheduled during the school break.

It's the Most Important Meal of the Day...

Get the day off to a great start with Breakfast with Santa!  There will be activities, photos, and, of course, breakfast.

Sandy Creek Nature Center will host three opportunities for "Breakfast with Santa" on Saturday, December 12 at 8:00, 9:00, and 10:00 AM.

Don't leave him out - "Breakfast with the Grinch" is slated for Saturday, December 12 at Rocksprings Park at 9:30 AM.

Memorial Park will offer  "Breakfast with Santa" with two chances to meet the Jolly Old Elf on Saturday, December 19 at 9:00 or 10:00 AM.

Online registration is underway and space is limited.

Art...Imagine That!

The Leisure Services Department presents a colorful winter exhibition, IMAGINE, showcasing Clarke County School District’s children and teen artwork.  

This biennial exhibit  features nearly 200 students from the 2014 and 2015 school years. This year's artists, from pre-kindergarten through 12th grade, explored the theme, IMAGINE, by creating both abstract and non-representational works in many different materials. 

The exhibit is on display through January 17 at Lyndon House Arts Center during regular gallery hours of Tuesday and Thursday: noon - 9:00 p.m.; Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday: 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.  The exhibit is free and open to the public.  Children must be accompanied by an adult.
