No parking sign at WOW Park

Safety First...

Roadside parking restrictions are now in place on Whit Davis Road adjacent to Southeast Clarke Park’s World of Wonder (WOW) Park and dog parks. The restrictions are due to dangerous situations that have been created for vehicles and pedestrians in the area, particularly children, caused by park visitors parking vehicles along Whit Davis Road.

Athens-Clarke County’s Traffic Engineering Division has installed “no parking” signs along Whit Davis Road in this area to remind drivers of the restrictions. The parking restrictions will be enforced by Athens-Clarke County Police, who may ticket and tow vehicles that are parked on the side of the road.

In the event that the Whit Davis parking area is full, additional parking is available on the Lexington Road side of Southeast Clarke Park. Park visitors can access the WOW Park through a short nature trail that connects the two sides of the park.

For more information, call 706-613-3801.

Bless Me, Father

On Stage...

Athens Creative Theatre presents "Bless Me Father" at Quinn Hall at Memorial Park.
Father Pat's parishioners are a bit fuzzy on the commandments, so when a rumor starts that the Pope is visiting their congregation, folks are lining up to confess their sins. However, the only John Paul in this confessional box is John Paul Fitzpatrick, the janitor. Fitz has been trapped in there for hours, and what he is learning could blow the lid off this whole town!

Performances takes place February 23-26.  Thursday, Friday, and Saturday shows are at 7:30 PM and Sunday’s performance is at 3 PM.

Tickets are $15 for adults, $12 for children, seniors, and students. $10 for groups of 10 or more. Tickets can be purchased at the Morton Theatre Box Office, Monday-Friday from 10 AM – 1 PM and 3 – 6 PM. Call 706-613-3771 to reach the box office.
