Just the Two of Us...


The Leisure Services Department will host a "Mother and Son Fun Night" on Friday, March 17 from 6:30 - 8:00 p.m. at Lay Park

Moms and their sons, ages 4-12, will have an evening of activities including games, a photo booth, and refreshments.  Mothers participate free with a child’s registration. The fee is $7 for ACC residents and $10.50 for non-residents.

Log House
Go Back in Time...

Sandy Creek Nature Center will host an Open House - Log House on Saturday, March 18 from 1:00 - 4:00 p.m. 

Join us as we open the doors to the Log House and explore life in earlier times. Special activities include music provided by the Athens Folk Society String Band, crafts, cooking, and games. 

This program is for all ages, however, children younger than 13 must be accompanied by an adult.  The program fee is $2 for ACC residents and $3 for non-residents. Children younger than 3 are admitted free of charge.

42nd Juried Exhibition

Art!


The opening reception of the 42nd Juried Exhibition is 
Thursday, March 23 from 6:00 - 8:00  p.m. at the Lyndon House Arts Center.

This year’s show was selected by guest juror Susan Krane, Oshman Executive Director of the San Jose Museum of Art.  A total of 313 artists entered 797 works of art for consideration.  She chose a concise group show of 162 works including fiber, metalwork, painting, paper, photography, and sculpture.

In celebration of the 42nd, every Thursday in the month of April, the Lyndon House will host gallery talks with Juried Exhibition artists.  These will take place from 6:00 - 7:00 p.m. on April 6, 13, 20, and 27.  The exhibit and gallery talks are free and open to the public.

The exhibition continues through May 6.  All exhibitions are free and open to the public during regular gallery hours: Tuesdays and Thursdays from noon - 9:00 p.m., and Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

School's Out!


Just a reminder, parents...the Clarke County School District will be out of session on Monday, April 3.


Wondering what to do when there is no school?  No worries, Leisure Services has you covered.  A selection of out of school programs are available from 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.  Choose from "Animal Planet," "Backyard Games," and "Colors of Spring."
