WALL SIGN HEIGHT AND GROUND SIGN SETBACK


Request:  An application has been filed requesting a waiver from the standards for allowable location of a wall sign (Sec. 7-4-18 (a)(3)) and setback for a ground sign (Sec. 7-4 Table I) in the C-D (Commercial Downtown) zone. The applicant is proposing to place a wall sign above the second floor on the Hyatt Hotel and to reduce the side setback for a ground sign from 11’ to 2’.

REQUIRED PARKING/MAXIMUM FLOOR AREA RATIO (FAR)/REQUIRED SIDEWALKS/REQUIRED STREET TREES/REQUIRED PARKING LOT TREES


Request:  An application has been filed requesting the following variances from the parking and design standards; reduce the required number of parking spaces from 126 to 56 (Sec. 9-30-2 A. 3.); increase allowable amount of Floor Area Ratio (FAR) from 0.5 to 0.62 (Sec. 9-12-7 D.); installation of sidewalks adjacent to streets on side and rear (Sec. 9-25-8 C. 2.); installation of street trees along streets on the side and rear (Sec. 9-25-8 C. 5. a,); and the requirement for parking lot trees (Sec. 9-25-8 G. 3.) on C-O (Commercial Office) zoned property. The requests are due to proposed expansion for the Delta Iota Sorority.
