Get in the game this spring with soccer!

The program 4-Year Old Soccer is available at both Bishop and Southeast Clarke Parks.It is designed for players to learn, develop, and apply fundamental soccer skills. The season takes place March 19-April 23.

Other spring soccer programs include: U7 Soccer at Bishop Park for ages 5-6 which takes place March 16-May 2 and Youth Soccer for ages 5-12. Both programs take place March 16 - May 2 at Bishop and Southeast Clarke Park.

Registration continues until February 27 at the ACC Tennis Center and Bishop Park or until teams are full.

East Athens Educational Dance Center Dancers

What a Show!

The East Athens Educational Dance Center will present its Annual Dance Production: “Be Ever Wonderful” celebrating the music of Earth, Wind and Fire, at the Morton Theatre. The production features a weekend full of performances by talented students showcasing various dance styles including ballet, jazz, modern dance, tap, and more.

The public performances of “Be Ever Wonderful” are scheduled for Saturday, February 28 at 7:00 p.m. and Sunday, March 1 at 3:00 p.m. All performances take place at the Morton Theatre in downtown Athens.

Tickets are $12 in advance and $15 at the door (pending availability). Ticket sales continue at the Morton Theatre Box Office weekdays from 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. or online at

Lyndon House Arts Center's 40th Juried Exhibition

For the fortieth time, Lyndon House Arts Center presents the Juried Exhibition featuring exceptional original artwork created by local artists.

This annual professionally oriented competition was judged by Carter Foster, Curator of Drawing at the Whitney Museum of Art in New York.  He selected 194 art works for exhibition from the 852 works submitted to the competition by 330 artists. He also chose 7 Merit Awards and 13 Honorable Mentions which will be announced at the opening reception. The public is invited to the opening reception scheduled for Thursday, March 5 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Lyndon House Arts Center.

The 40th Juried Exhibition will be on view from March 5 through May 2 during regular gallery hours: Tuesday & Thursday from noon until 9:00 p.m. and Wednesday, Friday, Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.

Spring Break is coming...
Spring Break!

?The Athens-Clarke County Department of Leisure Services will offerspring break camps at several of its facilities when the Clarke County School District is out of session the week of March 9.

East Athens Community Center will host Olympic Week Mini Camp March 9-13 from 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. The fee is $40 for ACC residents and $60 for non-residents. This program is for ages 6-13.

Spring Break Detective Camp is scheduled for March 9 – 13 from 9:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. The fee is $40 for ACC residents and $60 for non-residents. This program is for ages 6-12 and takes place at Rocksprings Park.

Lyndon House Arts Center will hold its annual Spring Break Art Break from 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. The program takes place Thursday, March 12. The fee is $42 ACC resident plus $15 materials fee and $63 for non-residents with a $15 materials fee. This program is for ages 6-12.

Registration continues at the facility where the program is taking place until full. Space is limited.
