Hot off the Presses!

The Athens-Clarke County Leisure Services Department's Summer 2015 Program Guide is now online!

Read all about summer camps, pools, and all the other activities planned throughout the summer.

Camp registration is staggered and begins in March. Program registration begins Saturday, April 25 for Athens-Clarke County residents. Non-county residents may register starting Wednesday, April 29.

Camp registration is staggered and begins in March. Registration takes place at the facility where the camp is held, unless otherwise noted.

Scholarships are available for qualifying ACC residents. Parents who wish to apply for a scholarship must do so prior to the day of camp registration. Scholarship information is available at
Bishop Park's Athens Farmer Market

Have a Look!

Utilizing public input gathered this fall, Department Park Planning staff have prepared a preliminary Bishop Park Master Plan Concept for citizen feedback.

Citizens may also view the plans and talk to Park Planning staff by attending one of the following information sessions on Wednesday, March 25 from 6:00-7:30 p.m. at the Bishop Park Conference Room or at the Information Booth at Athens Farmers' Market on Saturday, April 4 from 8:00 a.m. - noon.

Hunt for Sasquatch

Will We See Him?

Calling all fans of Bigfoot! Join Sandy Creek Nature Center staff and explore the woods looking for Bigfoot. Participants will make traps, hear calls, and have fun trying to find the elusive legend.

The Department will present a family program “The Hunt for Sasquatch” Friday, March 27 from 6:30-8:00 p.m. at Sandy Creek Nature Center.

Pre-registration is required by March 26 by calling 706-613-3615. The fee is $7 for Athens-Clarke County families and $10 for non-county families.

Breakfast with the Bunny

Hop to It!

The Department will present a variety of Easter events during the month of April.

Activities include “Thursday Tea with Mr. Bunny” and “Rock-n-Roll Easter Egg Hunt” at Rocksprings Park.

Other events include “Breakfast with the Bunny” at Memorial Park; an egg hunt at East Athens Community Center; and two egg hunts “Easter Egg-Stravaganza,” and the “Wild and Wacky Adult Easter Egg Scramble,” at Lay Park.
