The August 14th meeting of the Comprehensive Plan Steering Committee has been cancelled as well as the September 7th public input meeting.  The purpose of these cancellations is to allow for the completion of the Envision Athens Draft Plan and review by the committee prior to reconvening. Additional information pertaining to meeting times, dates and locations as well as additional opportunities for community input will be forthcoming.


Information:  The Athens-Clarke County Comprehensive Plan Steering Committee continues to accept and review public comment while it works on the required elements of the document. The next Work Session is scheduled for August 14, 2017 at 5:30 in the Planning Dept. Auditorium and will focus on the Vision Statement and Future Development Map.  Public comment will be accepted from 5:30-6:00, the formal meeting will follow.  Comments can be made at any time through our website or by contacting staff at 706 613.3515.

The Steering Committee is scheduled to consider these requests at their upcoming meeting where public comments will be received and are encouraged. Review the Frequently Asked Questions for more information about commenting on proposed projects.
