East Athens Dance Center performers

Get in Step!

Get to the pointe and enroll in a dance class offered by the East Athens Educational Dance Center.  A wide selection of classes for the beginner as well as the advanced student, are available in a variety of disciplines.

Summer dance program registration for Athens-Clarke County residents, Saturday, April 4 from 9:00 a.m. – noon.  Non-county residents may register beginning Wednesday, April 8 from 1:00 - 7:00 p.m. Registration continues during regular hours of operation.

The summer dance program includes a diverse selection such as Ballet, Dance Journey, Tap, Urban Dance Experience, and others.

The Department is currently hiring approximately 100 summer positions. Applications are being accepted for camp counselors, lifeguards, park assistants, and pool staff.

Hop to it!

The Department will present a variety of Easter events during the month of April.  

Activities include “Rock-n-Roll Easter Egg Hunt” at Rocksprings Park, as well as an egg hunt at East Athens Community Center; and two egg hunts “Easter Egg-Stravaganza,” and the “Wild and Wacky Adult Easter Egg Scramble,” at Lay Park.

Athens Farmers Market

The Athens Farmers Market is back and takes place each Saturday from 8:00 a.m.- noon at Bishop Park.

The Athens Farmers Market is an organization of local farmers, craftspeople and volunteers working to make locally grown and sustainably produced food and craft available for the good of all.

The Athens Farmers Market exists to foster a dynamic economic and educational connection between community members, farmers, and artisans by providing a marketplace for food grown locally using sustainable farming methods and for locally produced hand crafted goods and prepared foods.
