Get Moving!


Get in shape and have a great time with"Urban Soul Line Dance" at the East Athens Educational Dance Center.

This dance class is a fun, exciting way to learn the hottest party/social dances and to dance your way to good health.

This program combines low, moderate, and high energy line dance routines and will help everyone burn calories at the same time!

This is a five-week class and is for ages 18 and older.  The class takes place Mondays, starting October 2 from 6:00 – 7:30 p.m. The fee is $38 for ACC residents and $57 for non-residents. Online registration is underway.

Tennis

Tennis!


Governor Nathan Deal has proclaimed Tuesday, October 3 as “Tennis Day in Georgia.”

The Leisure Services Department is partnering with Clarke Oconee Tennis Association (COTA) to celebrate this day by encouraging tennis players to take and share photos on Facebook and Instagram of “Tennis Fun” on October 3, “Tennis Day in Georgia.”

Use the hashtags #cotatennisday and #tennisdayingeorgia when posting.  Individuals posting the best and most creative photos will receive prizes including free racquet stringing, restaurants gift cards, and more.  The goal is to bring more attention to the fun of tennis to the community at large.

Touch a Truck

Don't Miss It!


Touch a Truck is back! Enjoy a morning of fun and a chance to explore trucks of all types, including construction vehicles, fire trucks, police cars, and more. Each vehicle will have trained staff present to answer questions. 

This free event is set for Saturday, October 7 from 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. atSoutheast Clarke Park (Lexington Road side).

Zombie

Zombies Eat, Right?


Rocksprings Park will host its inauguralTween Zombie Mystery Dinner on Sunday, October 8 from 4:30 - 7:00 p.m.

Things have gone astray at the asylum as everyone is searching for a cure for the zombie virus.  Party guests, ages 10-14, will be assigned a character and encouraged to study and dress for the part. Dinner will include a ghoulish meal and a freaky dessert.
The fee is $20 for ACC residents and $30 for non-residents. Online registration is underway.

Don't panic, parents!  The Leisure Services Department has you covered! Programs are planned for the upcoming school holiday.

“Defend and Dominate Youth Basketball Camp” is scheduled for Monday, October 9 from 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. at East Athens Community Center.

Summertime is not the only time to go to basketball camp! Get ready for the season with drills and fundamental skills. This program is for ages 6-12. The fee is $15 ACC resident and $22.50 for non-residents. Register online for this program. For more information, call 706-613-3593.

“Fall Fun Day” will take place Monday, October 9 from 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. at Lay Park. Fall is coming so let's celebrate the colors, sights, and enjoy fall themed activities & crafts of the season.  This program is for ages 6-12.
