The Athens-Clarke County Leisure Services Department will host Christopher Titus “Born With a Defect,"  comedy tour on Thursday, April 23 at 8:00 p.m. at the Morton Theatre. Reserved seating tickets are $25 in advance, $35 for VIP seating and $28 at the door, VIP seating $38. 

Fresh off of his sixth comedy special release Combustion Live presents Christopher Titus bringing his dark, yet outrageously funny style of comedy to the Morton Theatre. Titus is known for his TV show "Titus," ABC's "Big Shots," and currently, "Pawnography" on the History Channel. He has released six ninety-minute, televised comedy specials since 2004.

Tickets to this event are available online at www.mortontheatre.com as well as the Morton Theatre Box Office by phone and in person on weekdays from 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. and again from 3:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.

Live Art 2015: Famous Broadway Duos

Live Art!

The Leisure Services Department presents Athens Creative Theatre's annual,“Live Art” a unique musical revue featuring more than 25 Broadway songs.  Audience members will enjoy interactive classic Broadway tunes as playbills come to life. This installment of the ever popular Live Art series is titled Famous Broadway Duos and features works created by famous Broadway songwriter/lyricist duos.

This special musical revue takes place Thursday-Sunday, April 23-26. at Quinn Hall at Memorial Park    Show times are 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings with a Sunday matinee at 3:00 p.m.

Tickets are $15 for adults; $12 for students, seniors, and children.  Tickets are now on sale through the Morton Theatre Box Office located at 195 West Washington St.: Monday-Friday: 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 - 6:00 p.m. by calling 706-613-3771 or online at www.mortontheatre.com.

Bioblitz!

Participate in the inaugural Bioblitz at Sandy Creek Nature Center!

On Friday, April 24 from 8:00 - 9:00 p.m. and Saturday, April 25 from 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m  join experts in the field of herpetology in search of reptiles and amphibians on the property.  Learn more about activities planned for the day.

People of all ages are encouraged to attend and participate. Dress to get wet and dirty!  This program is free of charge.

Summer Fun!

Get ready for the warmer months and register for a summer program including art, dance, recreation, nature education, sports, theatre, and more.

Summer registration takes place Saturday, April 25 from 9:00 a.m. – noon for Athens-Clarke County residents and non-residents may register beginning Wednesday, April 29 during regular hours of operation. Registration takes place at the facility where the program occurs and continues until programs are full. Summer camp registration is already underway.

Scholarships are available for qualifying Athens-Clarke County residents.  Individuals must apply for a scholarship prior to the day of program registration.

Make a Splash and Learn to Swim

Make it the safest summer ever - learn to swim!

Swim School is available for ages 3 and older at Bishop Park, East Athens Community Center, and Lay Park.

Parent/Tot Swim provides small group parent/tot swim lessons for children six months to age 3 at Bishop Park Pool. 

Registration takes place at Bishop Park on Saturday, April 25 from 9:00 a.m. – noon for Athens-Clarke County residents and non-residents may register beginning Wednesday, April 29 from 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
