Comprehensive Plan - Steering Committee Meeting

Public Input Review

November 27th, 2017
5:30-7:30 PM

Planning Department Auditorium
120 W Dougherty St
Athens, GA 30601

The 2018 Comprehensive Plan Steering Committee is meeting to review public input that has been received through Informational Public Engagement sessions, Public Presentations, paper surveys and online surveys.  They will also be discussing a first draft for the comprehensive plan document.  This meeting is open to the public, however comments will not be taken during the session.  Any comments may still be submitted to the Planning Department, submitted online through the survey or discussed with Planning Staff at 706 613 3515.

The Comprehensive Plan document is a state requirement that offers a chance for the local government to update various components of the previous plan (2008).  By partnering with Envision Athens, the Steering Committee has already received valuable goals, policies, and action items brought forth by the community, but must still obtain feedback regarding needs, opportunities, services, future land use, and a work program.  Staff will provide information about the process and content at each of the meetings, as well as seek input related to the discussion topic from those in attendance.  Please consider joining us for one or all of the following evenings as we all look toward ensuring a vibrant future for Athens-Clarke County.

One opportunity to comment is through our Comprehensive Plan Questionnaire.  We appreciate your input and time during this important community process.
