Request:  The applicant is requesting the addition of a new storage shed with a slab on grade. The materials are as follows: roofing is metal and matches house. Siding is painted cementitious lap siding. Exterior trim is painted cementitious board. Windows will be a painted wood. Doors will be a metal overhead door and painted wood. The shed will be 275 sq ft.

3. 778 Hill St – Porch Material Modifications


Request:  The purpose of this certificate of appropriateness application is to request porch material modifications. The wooden part of the front porch will be rebuilt to the same specs and painted in the same colors; the eastern side porch will be rebuilt with brick to match the back porch steps and patio approved on a prior HPC application; the concrete top of the eastern side porch will be replaced with brick in a running bond pattern. The front steps will be replaced with matching brick and the metal railing will be retained. Cheek walls on the front and west porch will be repaired to current appearance and stone tops will be retained. West porch steps will be replaced with matching brick.

8. 193 Mell St – Modify Previous Addition


Request:  The purpose of this certificate of appropriateness application is to request the modification of a previous addition. The description of proposed work is as follows: East elevation: later center stiles of screened porch panels to be removed and screen panels restored to original size. East Elevation and North Elevation: later addition to have new fenestration and detail/finishes more responsive to the historic home. Windows, doors and siding will be replaced. Roof slopes will be modified to a steeper slope; matching existing historic roof slope. Eaves will be enlarged to match the existing eave depth of the historic home. The entry will be relocated from the north elevation to the east elevation and anew poured concrete steps will be installed to access the rear garden. Iron railings at steps are proposed to meet building code requirements.
