Stormwater in August
July was a busy, fun month full of camp visits, Green Trivia, and rain barrel building. The Stormwater Interns cleaned up part of the North Oconee and said good-bye as they started the next chapter in their lives. Fortunately, August is looking to be action-packed as well, with ACC Stormwater popping up everywhere from health fairs to farmers markets.
Here are the events ACC Stormwater has coming up this month:
First A.M.E Health Fair
Saturday, August 8, 10 am–2 pm
C. D. Wilkerson Educational Center, 521 North Hull Street
ACC Stormwater will host a booth with information about water pollution in Clarke County, how it can affect your health, and what you can do about it. Stop by to see where the polluted waterways run and learn how to dispose of common household chemicals that can harm our waters and your health. The health fair is hosted by the First A.M.E. Church and will provide free health screenings and information about other health issues.
